In the spirit of promoting made in Nigeria goods, the Dunes centre Abuja launched their Nigerian floor and had a fashion show. The Dunes fashion show was focused on made in Nigeria luxury clothing. It was a two part event consisting of the tour of the Nigerian floor, which happened in the afternoon and the Nigerian floor fashion show, which was held in the evening.
The Launch
The launch was quite interesting for me because I made several friends. I met quite a number of social media personalities (bloggers, photographers, MUAs, models, entrepreneurs). Yes! … and for the first time I met my longtime social media friend Dupe of gingerlie.com, who was also modelling for the fashion show in the evening. We clicked immediately we started talking, you would think that we had known each other for years.
Â
The fashion show seemed a bit short to me, either because I was so excited being as that was my first ‘official’ fashion show or maybe because I was so busy trying to capture every moment of it. [note to self – be more relaxed at your next fashion show].

My thoughts:
Dunes did a really good job putting the event together. I must commend them because it’s very important to support made in Nigeria goods, especially now that the economy seems unstable. I know ‘made in Nigeria’ should not be synonymous with ‘cheap’ but the items should also be affordable. From what I was told (by very reliable sources), those pieces that walked the runway are not affordable at all, I guess that’s why they were called ‘luxury’ collections. Also I actually expected more people to turn up for the event but that was not the case. That aside, I actually enjoyed the whole show. See for yourself…

Nice content. As for the number of people that turned up for the event, sometimes it’s not about the quantity but the quality. I think reasonable number of people that really matter turned up. Thanks for sharing.
