Happy New Month!!!

We are in the second quarter of the year and I’m sure we have accomplished so much already. I don’t know about you, but I sure have.

I was in church the other day and something stuck. My Pastor said not to focus on where you are now but to focus on where you are going to (ie. the bigger picture). This has been on my mind since then. It means we should not think so much about the situations we are facing. Don’t let the present challenges weigh you down because it’s not gonna be there for long. Rather keep the bigger picture in mind. Think on what you want to achieve in life and let these thoughts be a driving force. Let them motivate you to work harder and you would be just steps away from your goal. It could be as simple as wanting a better phone, no matter what it is, focus on what lies ahead.

Iron Rose Premiere + The Wedding party

Now let’s discuss something else. I have been seeing ads of Iron Rose a new telenovela that was set to start showing on the 1st of May. Well, I watched the shows premiere and it was nothing to write home about. I was multi tasking while watching it, so it’s important to mention that I didn’t give it my full attention. But what happened to the days of Paloma, El Cuerpo Del Deseo, The Gardners Daughter, etc. Those days I really enjoyed the telenovelas, I always tuned in when it was time for them to show. Maybe I have outgrown them or maybe these shows no longer have an interesting story line. All hope is not lost though, I’ll give Iron Rose another chance to redeem itself by watching the episode 2. Stay tuned for updates.

The Wedding Party; a must-watch movie lol. A lot of people went to see this at the cinemas, not me though. I feel so good to let you know I watched mine on Netflix. Fun fact is that I didn’t even know it was going to be out on Netflix, I was just patiently waiting for a friend to copy in unto my pendrive *covers face*. So I watched it on Netflix and it was really funny, I highly recommend it. One of my favorite scenes in that movie was when Toyin tomato was dancing in her entrance to the wedding reception. Who saw her ‘shaking her tail feather’?? lol.

Now that I know these popular Nigerian movies finally get to Netflix, I’m also waiting for Omugwo and Okafor’ law to be out. My cousin told me she wanted to go see these movies, having heard so much about them. When she was telling me, I was just smiling in my mind, knowing fully well that I was just going to search for them on Netflix when I got home; unfortunately they weren’t there.

Life Update

If you follow me on Snapchat (@phieephiee), you would know I have been spending quite some time with my cousin and her kids. Work and school resumes today, so I guess the time spent would have to be cut short. As for Instagram, I know I haven’t been as consistent as I should and for that I apologize. It’s actually been a while I had a photoshoot, I have been so busy these days. I just have to go out more often ‘cos I get inspiration for majority of my pictures by going to different places. Someone please come ‘take ya girl out’.

This post would be incomplete without me mentioning a thing or two about the weather. Abuja has been so hot and honestly quite unfriendly. I know it’s been raining the past couple of days, but still the days are so hot and the nights are not as cool as they ought to. And the NEPA situation is not even helping matters, it just seems to be getting worse. I was chatting with a friend the other day and he had to turn his phone off to conserve some energy because his house had been out of power supply for days. What kind of society is the system creating for us?!

Not sure if this was a rant or a life update but I hope you enjoyed reading it all the same. How did you spend this 3-day weekend? If you have watched the wedding party, leave a comment on your favourite scene. Have a productive week guys.

With Love,
